Love is a stranger with a strange language

The exhibition space opens with a text by the artist Felice Ardito who, starting from a Rumi's poem, recounts the free and informal atmosphere that street art is capable of bringing with it. We are in the heart of the European Parliament, and yet there are someone sitting on the ground, colours, someone painting, a child crawling among the boats made of flags.

Gender Playground

By these forms and shapes I want people to feel and keep the impact of the colours.    
Like a mirror I want them to see their own power through it. All the forms are separated from each other but they are in reality one body. This idea as association-dissociation through the forms is a link linked to minorities people of our society. The ones who struggle their way to live, their way to be themselves, what they like, what they choose or not to be. In a certain way minorities, as the community LGBTQ+ are being separated , living as they can with all the pressure of society. My work is to follow them interpreting their fight by the colors I use through the LGBQ+ flag’s colours. Every color is merged into another one to illustrate a limitless of possibilities between genders. Take any form, any shape, build your own language, even if society tries to destroy it. Our liberty is there, there to create the diversity between the main colors, so to get aware about more genders.

We support a single, evidence based tool resting on the core principles, which would involve regular monitoring and a clear process of action against governments in breach of Union values. More action must be taken on both EU and Member State level to address the threats to fundamental rights posed by the digital environment, especially the risk to privacy, data protection and freedom of expression.

Renew Europe topic: Human rights

The protection of human rights both within and outside the Union must be an absolute priority. We call on the European Council to establish a flexible EU-wide sanctions regime to target any individual, state or non-state actor involved in human rights violations. Fully protecting the rights of sexual minorities, fighting against racism and all other forms of discriminations and intolerance must be a cornerstone of the EU legal framework. The longstanding issue of gender-based discrimination must be urgently addressed, and we believe that tackling gender inequality must become a cornerstone of EU policies.

We are Heroes of Resilience, but Even Heroes Need Allies

This artwork serves as a reminder of the duties of our community of living beings: extending help to those who are stuck, who are frozen in a position of being alert yet unable to move, who are surviving but not thriving. I call my figures superhero-bunnies. I chose this mammal as it is an animal of prey that can successfully outrun its predators but only if there are paths for it to choose from. It is my symbol for thousands, millions of women holding on to themselves for dear life. They are not at all in a pose of defeat, but in dire need of allies to help them fend for their space in this world. On the sculptural part of the
installation I collaborated with Rumanian sculptor Anton Tishchenko, who evacuated his art studio in Moscow in March 2022.

There is still a great deal of progress to be made when it comes to the inclusion of minorities and marginalized groups in Europe. All people, regardless of individual circumstances, must be given the opportunity to be included in society and the labor market. Anti-discrimination policies must be fully implemented and gaps in legislation must be addressed.

What are the most important human rights?

For me personally the answer is obvious. The most important thing I talk about in my work is the right to access to clean water. In the project “Imagine A World Without Water” I spoke about it in 2016. The access to clean water for all living humans is the basis of Human Right.

Welcome Home

When we think about carpets, we think of our personal, safe spaces and a soft, gentle touch. Digital mediums and technology, on the other hand, are less tangible and seem to be removed from the emotional and comforting context of human existence. So what happens if we intersect these two realms? This European transnational collaboration emphasizes the accessibility of art and how transcultural stories are interwoven and connected - just as the fibers of a carpet. For this project, the digital design is executed as a tangible, locally-produced object and highlights an intersection of craft/industry and visual art. Through the carpet, the digital piece is transformed in its nature: It becomes part of human existence with a comforting
and accessible aura.

The protection of fundamental rights must be a cornerstone in the development and implementation of new technologies. Both the digital infrastructure itself and the regulatory landscape, which surrounds it, must be designed in such a way as to guarantee the protection of fundamental rights: in particular, the right to privacy. Regular and thorough assessments of risks posed by new technologies are essential.

The Dip

This work is an ode to the coexistence of cultures within a world of constant displacement. It juxtaposes the determination of a culture focused on preserving itself against the futility of self-isolation. The pride and intricacy of each celebrate their differences, while the subtle hostility underlines their fears. Balanced between the two, an ancient creature hints at a shared origin and future.

Despite their major social and economic value, the creative and cultural industries are in an economically precarious situation. Incomes are irregular, and many creative professionals were severely affected by government lockdowns during the pandemic. It is therefore important that recovery funds disbursed by the Commission should be targeted to help these industries recover from the pandemic.

Dispatchwork

Everybody can participate in Dispatchwork. We are symbolically building together a - horizontal - tower of Babel. Not trying to reach high up into the skies, but rather reach every person on the planet who still has the spark of optimism and joy of childhood inside them. No matter their place of birth or the language they speak, no matter their set of skills or motricity, regardless their genders, ages and individual circumstances: Everybody is warmly welcome who wants to place a toy-block inside a broken wall in their village or city to help symbolically repair that building and therefore the world it stands in. Together we can try to prove that there is a global culture, one that unites us all and that we are able to collaborate beyond borders.

In the wake of the pandemic, many children and young people across the EU are at an increased risk of poverty and social exclusion: these risks must be urgently addressed, with new and innovative ways to engage young people and offer them meaningful opportunities. Concrete Child and Youth Guarantees are needed, to complement the recently adopted EU Strategy for the Rights of the Child.
